With Love from Greece!

A TRAVEL TO GREECE WITHIN BASEL

You love the Greek food with all its valuable and healthy products?

A wide selection of traditional Greek products is awaiting for you at my shop.

Natural food of high quality is very close to my heart. That’s how I remember it from my childhood, when my mother cooked and the whole family gathered around the table.

It is not without reason that Greek cuisine is one of the healthiest cuisines around. It is rich in natural products with intense flavours, without additives, but matured under the Greek sun.

I visit the farmers and wine makers directly on site and maintain a long-standing relationship with them. This way I can guarantee a carefully selected range of exquisite products.

My life, my story

Goddess Aphrodite (Venus) was born on the beautiful island of Kythira! Me too!

Thanks to the pen pal friendships, I became a regular customer at the post office of my village, as I enjoyed sending and receiving mail from over 60 pen pals around the world. For a reason the big wide world has always fascinated me.

Working for 4 years on Cruise ships mainly in charge of the shore excursions; I had the chance to visit over 50 countries and realize how great is this planet! My favourite place? The Amazonas River!!!

And then comes the time when you cannot have “bosses” and you are too old for the business…I wished to run my own shop “Greek style”. After three years running a tiny shop and importing food and wine from Greece; I was lucky to set up my current shop as I had it in my mind!

My summer jobs in the local tavernas or as a tour guide lighten up my desire to get to know people from so many countries and cultures. Then it was clear that the tourism and gastronomy world would be my world. After the Greek Diploma on Tourism, I graduated from the Swiss Hotel Management in Lucerne.

The three years running a small café in my home island, was a great experience; however, dealing with the Greek administration was not my cup of tea. Switzerland had stolen my heart and became the place to live since 2006. Again, through my job within event management, allowed me to travel often to new destinations. The world is amazing!
